SUMMARY:All Things Agile Gwinnett (ATAG)
DESCRIPTION:The June meetup agenda will start off with lunch sponsored by Genuent. Once everyone has had a chance to get settled\, we will kickoff the meetup with brief individual introductions (10 secs each). \nThe event will then move to our guest speaker\, Mark Sheffield\, who will be presenting via Zoom video. Mark is an Agile Coach\, author\, and IT consultant. He co-wrote the book “Inviting Leadership” with Daniel Mezick. For the ATAG June meetup\, he will share with us the power of Openspace Agility and how it can help engage a team for a common vision and goal. \nThe second half of the event we will use the Lean Coffee (http://leancoffee.org/) format. Lean Coffee is a structured\, but agenda-less meeting. Participants will gather\, build an agenda (backlog of topics)\, and begin the discussion. Conversations are directed and productive because the agenda for the meeting is democratically generated. \nWe will close the meetup with a “Rapid Retrospective” (5 minutes) covering what was beneficial to the group and what could be enhanced in future ATAG meetups. \nThe total event time is scheduled for ~1.5 hrs. \nPlease arrive a few minutes early because attendees will need to sign in at the front desk. Parking is available in front of the building and behind the building. Please park on the M3 side since the other side of the lot is owned by SAGE. \nWe look forward to seeing you there! \nWalt and Derwin

SUMMARY:Presenter Series: Agile Party Planning
DESCRIPTION:This a continuation of our Presenter Series. The presenter series is onsite only and seeks to bring in leading speakers to share their experiences in order to provoke new ideas and challenge existing paradigms within the agile space. \nJoin us as Ben van Glabbeek presents on “Agile Party Planning”. \nDescription:Agile Party Planning – How to keep the management team from crashing your agile methods party. \nNo one wants to be left out of the party but when we start talking about agile methods that’s what we do to the managers. They are left to the side and asked to be servant leaders without any guidance. Let’s explore how to enable and empower the management team with new tools so they are welcomed instead of crashing the party. \nMore about Ben van Glabbeek:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ben-van-glabbeek/

SUMMARY:Agile Lunch Bunch @Boosterthon (Mansell/400)
DESCRIPTION:Agenda begins with optional Lightning Talk “Openers” before moving into Lean Coffee format. If you want to propose a Lightning Talk\, feel go with the standard Agile Alliance conference format of 3 min slideless\, 5 slides in 5 min\, or 7 min Pecha Kucha (20 slides\, 20 sec). \nThen we’ll shift to an adapted Lean Coffee format (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuQCNkF4uO8) so come load our backlog with your interests\, questions\, and ideas. We’ve had great feedback on how the ensuing dialogue will really get a feel for the “pulse” of the Atlanta Agile community. Consistently strong engagement and interactions have sparked our learning. \nLunch will be provided! Please keep the input on how to best optimize and evolve the dialogue! \nSee you all there! \nRob Phillips \n(678) 557-9522

SUMMARY:Presenter Series: Change or Die - Approaches for continuous change & improvement
DESCRIPTION:This a continuation of our Presenter Series. The presenter series is onsite only and seeks to bring in expert speakers to share their experiences in order to provoke new ideas and challenge existing paradigms within the agile space. \nJoin us as Brad Hugick and Dan Sloan present on “Change or Die”. \nDescription:These are the words that are often said within large enterprises that must continuously adapt and improve in a volatile\, uncertain\, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) world. Although it sounds simple on the surface\, it can be quite challenging to rapidly change and improve at enterprise scale. Why is this? \nIn this session\, we will unearth the challenges inherent in large-scale organizational change and why it is threatening the long-term viability of our largest enterprises. To solve this difficult problem\, we will explore a promising approach for continuous change and improvement referred to as a “Chapter of Change”. We will dig deep into the principles and practices for this approach by drawing on a powerful combination of Open Space Technology and Scrum\, while sharing real-world experiences that can be used to implement a pragmatic “Chapter of Change” format in your organization. \nMore about Dan Sloan:Dan is an Enterprise Coach and ‘ways of working’ advocate at Cox Automotive\, a global automotive services and software company focused on transforming the way the world buys\, sells\, owns and uses cars.LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/danielhsloan/ \nMore about Brad Hugick:Brad Hugick is an Enterprise Coach at Cox Automotive and currently supporting the Inventory Solutions portfolioLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/bradhugick/

SUMMARY:Deliver Quality Software Faster with Automated Testing w/ Aaron Lindsay
DESCRIPTION:Modern Agile environments are pushing to deliver high quality software at speed. Mobile applications\, IoT devices\, and microservices must provide the most cutting-edge features to customers\, while organizations contend with legacy applications that are driving the backend or are undergoing re-architecture for cloud deployments. If a defect is pushed to customers as a result of a change\, it can have cascading negative brand effects. To successfully deliver quality at speed\, organizations need to adopt automated processes to ensure software is tested fully. In this session\, Parasoft will present how to evolve from manual to automated testing by leveraging technologies including static analysis\, unit testing\, functional testing\, and load testing\, in an always-on\, stable test environment. \nAaron Lindsay has been helping Parasoft’s clients harden code\, develop functional testing solutions\, and virtualize their environments for almost 7 years. He has worked on projects all across America\, South America\, and India incorporating service virtualization into verticals that range from banking and healthcare to defense organizations. \nPrior to Parasoft Aaron worked with an R&D team under Dr. Ciera Jaspan to identify collaboration constrains in Java frameworks and developed static analysis tools that would identify defects.
